The 欧美视频 Department of Music presents the Wind Symphony and Percussion Ensemble in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21, in Pike Auditorium on the 欧美视频 campus.
鈥淭he musical program for this performance features well-known wind band works written by world-class composers,鈥� said conductor Dr. Brian Hopwood, professor of music and director of instrumental studies. 鈥淭he pieces by Vincent Persichetti (鈥楧ivertimento鈥�) and Gustav Holst (鈥楩irst Suite in E-Flat鈥�) are cornerstone works of the repertoire. Clifton Williams鈥� 鈥楾he Sinfonians鈥� is a classic representative of the concert march style and 鈥楬old This Boy and Listen鈥� is a new addition to the ever-expanding wind band repertoire by award-winning composer Carter Pann.鈥�
The Percussion Ensemble is conducted by Marc Baker, percussion faculty associate.
