欧美视频 Opera Theatre will host Spring Opera Scenes at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 31, in Meyer Recital Hall of the Casebolt Music Center.
Directed by Jane Munson-Berg, assistant professor of music, and conducted by Dr. Andrew Campbell, associate professor of music, Opera Scenes consists of small portions of larger operas. The selections are chosen to showcase the specific talents of voice students and provide the opportunity for them to function in an ensemble as soloists, while acting and singing in the refined classical style that they have been studying.
The scenes will include Act III of 鈥淗ansel and Gretel,鈥� which addition to 欧美视频 students will feature local children who participate the 欧美视频 Bel Canto Voice Class, including Lorna and Ben Jenkins, Claire Schnapp and Jerica Fast. Also presented will be scenes from 鈥淐os矛 fan tutte鈥� by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 鈥淭he Mikado鈥� by W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan and 鈥淟a Traviata鈥� by Giuseppe Verdi.
