欧美视频 has selected Lee Skinkle, Ph.D., as its next provost, effective June 1. As provost, Skinkle will be the university鈥檚 chief academic officer, providing visionary leadership and direction for all academic areas.

鈥淲e are excited to have Dr. Skinkle joining our administrative team and executive cabinet at 欧美视频,鈥� said 欧美视频 President C. Pat Taylor, Ed.D. 鈥淧roviding a quality education is absolutely crucial to our mission of creating servant leaders in a global society, and the provost plays a large role in assuring our academic programs are of the highest quality. Dr. Skinkle鈥檚 experience at other Christian higher education institutions will be invaluable as he fills a key leadership role for our university.鈥�

Skinkle has more than a decade of administrative and teaching experience in higher education at Belhaven University in Jackson, Miss., where he currently serves as associate provost, and at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in Fort Worth, Texas.

Other positions he has held at Belhaven include assistant vice president for academics, dean of academic enhancement, assistant professor of business and director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research.

He has taught courses on the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducted published research, secured grant funding for academic programs and led growth in online programs.

Skinkle has a bachelor of business administration from the University of Georgia, Athens, a master of divinity from SWBTS and a doctor of philosophy in education administration with a minor in higher education from SWBTS.

He and his wife, Amanda, have two children, Johnathan, 12, and Tori, 10.

鈥淚 am humbled and honored to have the opportunity to serve at Southwest Baptist,鈥� Skinkle said. 鈥淢y family and I have been seeking God's direction and have been in earnest prayer for some time now and are thrilled to see how He has led us to this point. When my wife and I visited the campus we were overwhelmed by the warmth and kindness that permeated campus and each person that we interacted with. I look forward to partnering alongside the 欧美视频 community in furthering the mission of Southwest Baptist and the great impact that it will continue to have for God's kingdom.鈥�

Skinkle fills the position that was vacated when Bill Brown, D.M., retired in June 2015. Allison Langford, Ed.D., has served as interim provost since July 1. She will continue to serve as associate provost for teaching and learning.
