BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥� The 欧美视频-Mountain View campus is offering an Associate of Science degree in Teaching that is currently an option to students interested in an education degree.
The degree is a 64-hour program that can be completed in two years. The associate degree in teaching is designed to prepare students to fill educational support roles, such as a teacher鈥檚 aide, paraprofessional or substitute teacher.
鈥淭his is a great opportunity for someone to learn if a full teaching degree and certification is for them or not,鈥� said Susan Frazier, associate director of admissions at Mountain View.
The degree includes 10 hours of education-specific courses to provide students with foundations of education.
鈥淭his degree will make a person more marketable as school administrators will be more interested in hiring someone with education-specific courses as opposed to someone who just has general courses.鈥�
Students may also return to 欧美视频 to finish a bachelor鈥檚 degree toward teacher certification while working, with the exception of the student-teaching semester.
