BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频鈥檚 board of trustees approved the addition of a master of arts in Christian ministry degree during the board鈥檚 Oct. 18 meeting.
鈥淲ith our master of arts in Christian ministry, we intend to prepare men and women who are called to the ministry to apply theological studies to kingdom initiatives that build up the Church and contribute to the welfare of the community,鈥 said Dr. Rodney Reeves, dean of The Courts Redford College of Theology and Ministry and professor of biblical studies. 鈥淥ur master of arts in Christian ministry is a practical theology degree. What is segregated in undergraduate and seminary studies (courses in theology versus courses in ministry) is fully integrated in our curriculum.鈥
The 42-hour degree can be completed in one year by students who receive an undergraduate degree within the Redford College and dual-enroll in graduate courses during their final year of undergraduate studies. Students who already have a bachelor鈥檚 degree in theology, biblical studies or ministry can complete the program in two years.
鈥淪uccessful students will want to correlate their theological study with practical ministry, developing a philosophy of ministry based on the conviction that the Church exists to promote the Kingdom of God,鈥 Reeves said. 鈥淭he program will enable students to apply what they learn in the classroom to real-life challenges in ministry.鈥
Pending further approval by the Higher Learning Commission, courses will be offered beginning Fall 2017.
