BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 The 欧美视频 Community Concert Series presents the second concert in its inaugural season with Brazilian flutist Danilo Mezzadri at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 19 in Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus of 欧美视频.
Mezzadri is Principal Flute with the Gulf Coast and North Mississippi Symphony orchestras. His performances have been reviewed as 鈥済orgeous鈥 (Detroit Press), and 鈥渨ith a limpid sound, and coaxing every ounce of lyricism鈥 (Jackson Patriot).
The American Record Guide describes his CD, 鈥淏razilian Soundscapes,鈥 as 鈥渕usic of a high order that deserves a welcome from a global audience.鈥 In his most recent CD, 鈥淓pigrams,鈥 Mezzadri is said to have 鈥済lowing, golden tone鈥 and 鈥渧ivid musicality bringing each work to life, regardless of tonality,鈥 according to Fanfarre Magazine.
He has won several competitions, such as the International Porto Alegre Symphonic Orchestra Young Instrumentalist Competition and the Brazilian International Flute Association Competition. A sought-out performer and teacher, Mezzadri maintains an active concert schedule around the United States, South America and Europe. He teaches flute at Southern Mississippi University, Festival M煤sicas nas Montanhas, and Blue Lake. Mezzadri graduated with the First Prize Award from the EMBAP (Brazil), and earned MM and DMA degrees from Michigan State University.
The public is invited to attend this free recital and is encouraged to attend a reception in the Meyer Recital Hall lobby after the performance, as well as support 欧美视频 Music students through donations for music scholarships.
Brian Hsu is scheduled to perform on Feb. 14, 2019, and Duo MemDi (Igor Kalnin and Rochelle Sennet) will be in concert in April 2019 as part of The William and Kathy Brown Guest Artist Series.
