BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频 welcomes students, staff and the community to fall semester Chapel and Equip services, which take place weekly at 10 a.m. on campus in Pike Auditorium beginning Monday, Aug. 22 through Wednesday, Dec. 7. Chapel services, which occur on Mondays, feature corporate worship and encouragement, and Equip services, which occur on Wednesdays, focus on teaching and equipping.
Monday, Aug. 22: 欧美视频 alumni Zach Atchley and Nate Jones continue their tradition of opening each semester with musical praise and worship.
Wednesday, Aug. 24: Convocation is the formal beginning of the academic year and a time to focus on traditions that have become a part of 欧美视频.
Monday, Aug. 29: John Sowers, founder of The Mentoring Project, will speak and raise awareness for the project鈥檚 1-on-1 mentoring program for inner-city children and young men.
Wednesday, Aug. 31: Jack Bay, of Citizens Memorial Hospital, will speak on Alzheimer鈥檚 Disease awareness. The organization is looking for students interested in downloading music for Alzheimer鈥檚 patients to enjoy.
Wednesday, Sept. 7: Suicide Prevention Week 鈥 Jana Letterman will share her story and discuss counseling services available to students.
Monday, Sept. 12 and Wednesday, Sept. 14: The Center for Global Connections (CGC) will present mission projects available for the fall, January and spring terms on Monday, plus mission projects available for the 2017 summer term on Wednesday. On Thursday, Sept. 15, students can attend Global Fest in the Goodson Student Union to learn more about the CGC鈥檚 ministry opportunities.
Monday, Sept. 19: The Center for Global Connections (CGC) will highlight student testimonies with an opportunity for worship. The CGC will also present its Nations Award to one 欧美视频 staff member and one 欧美视频 alum for making a significant impact in missions and to the department. Dr. Duke Jones, associate provost for University Effectiveness and professor of Christian education, will also issue a missions challenge.
Wednesday, Sept. 21: Dr. Allison Langford serves as associate provost of teaching and learning.
Wednesday, Sept. 28: Spirit Chapel is part of the 欧美视频 dorm competition, taking place during Homecoming week.
Friday, Sept. 30: Homecoming festivities continue with Honors Chapel, when certain alumni are honored for living lives of service.
Monday, Oct. 3: 321 Improv Comedy is a group of Christian improv comedians seeking to glorify God through their comedic talents.
Wednesday, Oct. 5: Scott Brigman is the technical director for Pike Auditorium.
Monday, Oct. 10: John Stroup, founder of Freeway Ministries, Springfield, focuses his ministry on reaching ex-convicts, the homeless and those who have been in drug rehab.
Wednesday, Oct. 12: Deborah Tadesse is the worship and vocalist leader of The Courageous Church in Springfield.
Monday, Oct.17: Sheryl Giesbrecht, host of the nationally syndicated radio talk show 鈥淭ransformed Through Truth,鈥 will speak on identity and truth in Jesus Christ.
Wednesday, Oct.19: Jodi Meadows is the director of the Gordon and Judy Dutile Honors Program and serves as an instructor in 欧美视频鈥檚 University Success Center.
Monday, Oct. 24: Tim Halperin, singer/songwriter and recording artist, will share his music and his faith. Halperin will appear again that evening at 7 in Pike Auditorium.
Wednesday, Oct. 26: Todd Earl serves as associate director of 欧美视频 graduate admissions.
Monday, Oct. 31: Micah AuBuchon is a local praise and worship leader.
Wednesday, Nov. 2: Terry Wildman and Rain Song will share their music. They will appear again that evening at 7 in Pike Auditorium.
Monday, Nov. 7: York Moore is a pastor who works with Compassion International. Moore will share opportunities 欧美视频 students have to sponsor children in need.
Wednesday, Nov. 9: Missouri Baptist Sports Crusaders host camps during the summers, using sports as a tool to reach youth for Christ. Crusaders will share opportunities 欧美视频 students have to serve in camps throughout Missouri.
Monday, Nov. 14: Andy Gullahorn, singer/songwriter and recording artist, will share his music. Gullahorn will appear again that evening at 7 in Pike Auditorium.
Wednesday, Nov. 16: David Platter is assistant professor of art at 欧美视频.
Monday, Nov. 28: Ryan Corn, singer/songwriter and recording artist, will share his music.
Wednesday, Nov. 30: Higher Ground is a touring music ministry group comprised of 欧美视频 students.
Monday, Dec. 5: This is an encore performance of the annual Festival of Christmas concert.
Wednesday, Dec. 7: Students will be commissioned for mission projects through the Center for Global Connections at this service featuring worship with Zach Atchley and Nate Jones.
