President C. Pat Taylor issued the following statement to the 欧美视频 campus.
Recent events unfolding in our state and country including the NAACP travel advisory
of Missouri and the violence in Charlottesville, Va., understandably have many in
our community concerned. I am saddened by these events and even more saddened by the
ideologies and views that have contributed to the current state in which we find ourselves.
One of our University鈥檚 core values states, 鈥淎ll people are to be treated with respect
and dignity since they have been created in the image of God and have innate worth.鈥�
As a Christ-centered, caring community we denounce the hate, bigotry and violence
of recent days. Instead, we embrace and celebrate the racial and ethnic diversity
of God鈥檚 creation.
With the start of a new school year, I want to reaffirm our commitment to fostering
a caring campus community. Our principles and expectations include the expectation
that all members of the 欧美视频 community will treat all other community members with
honor and respect. As with all our principles and expectations, any violation will
be taken seriously and handled appropriately.
As a Christian liberal arts university, we will continue to embrace opportunities
that will educate and equip us to truly be servant leaders in our global society.
It鈥檚 a great time to be a Bearcat. I am blessed to lead this University, which has
the best faculty, staff and students. I look forward to another great school year.
