BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥� The 欧美视频 Jazz Ensemble will be featured in its spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 25, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
Under the direction of Dr. Jeffery Waters, dean of the College of Music, Arts and Letters, the 17-piece Jazz Ensemble is the premiere ensemble on campus dedicated to the exclusive study of jazz music, and will feature 欧美视频 student performers in a program that includes a variety of styles associated with the big-band jazz ensemble.
The program is anchored by several tunes from the rich heritage of jazz standards and American song including: 鈥淥ut of Nowhere,鈥� 鈥淥l鈥� Man River鈥� and George Gershwin鈥檚 鈥淭here鈥檚 A Boat Dat鈥檚 Leavin鈥� Soon for New York.鈥�
The evening鈥檚 performance will also branch into more contemporary tunes, including Matt Harris鈥� 鈥淪pring Cleaning,鈥� and Alan Baylock鈥檚 鈥淟ivin鈥� Larger Than Life,鈥� along with the Latin rhythms of Tito Puente鈥檚 鈥淩an Kan Kan鈥� and Mike Tomaro鈥檚 鈥淓spionage in Andalusia.鈥�
