BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥� Charlie Hungerford, director of admissions for 欧美视频鈥檚 Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences, was recently elected to the three-year presidential cycle for the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling at its annual conference.

Hungerford will serve as president-elect in his first year, president during his second year and the final year as past-president. MOACAC serves professionals in the high school and college levels of college admissions to help students and their families through the college selection process.

鈥淚鈥檓 honored to have an opportunity to serve in the presidential role to the Missouri Association for College Admission Counseling,鈥� Hungerford said. 鈥淏eing a member of this association has been a tremendous benefit to me personally and professionally over the past 15 years.

鈥淣ow, having the chance to provide leadership to the organization gives me the chance to give back in a truly remarkable way, and to be part of charting the course for the next generation of college-bound students. It is a privilege to be associated with such a strong group of educational professionals in Missouri.鈥�

Hungerford鈥檚 responsibilities have already begun in his new role. He was a member of the MOACAC Executive Board, serving as the Admission Practice Chair and the Membership Co-Chair. He has given up those roles to take the presidential cycle position.

鈥淏eing elected to the presidential cycle for the Missouri Association of College Admission Counseling is a pinnacle of sorts for me and represents the achievement of some long-term goals I created 15 years ago when I first joined the Association,鈥� Hungerford said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 humbling to me to be chosen by the organization for this role.鈥�

In 2016, Hungerford was named Communications Committee Chair for the National Association for College Admission Counseling, in which he will wrap a two-year term in September. NACAC is the primary professional organization for college and university admissions staff members with nearly 17,000 members.
