BOLIVAR, Mo. – As a part of Å·ÃÀÊÓÆµâ€™s Esports Expo, high school students have the opportunity to compete in a League of Legends single-elimination tournament, beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 29, on the Bolivar campus.
The 32-team tournament will consist of six rounds, lasting 35 to 60 minutes each. The championship game will be held on the expo’s main stage and live-streamed on , with the possibility of 10,000-plus viewers online. Winners of the final match will receive a signed jersey from Counter Logic Gaming’s League of Legends team, presented by Devin Nash. The top eight teams also will receive digital League of Legends prizes from Riot Games.
The top 32 student teams, 160 students, who apply for entry into the tournament will be selected for the competition. Registration deadline is April 21 and can be completed at: www.sbuniv.edu/EsportsExpo. The day of the expo, players will need to sign in between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m in the lobby of Mabee Chapel. The championship game will be played and streamed at 3 p.m. During the tournament, players who are not competing will have the opportunity to enjoy the expo.
