BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频鈥檚 Darrell R. Strait Center, along with the Physics and Pre-Engineering and International clubs, welcome Fulbright Visiting Scholar Dr. Mamta Bhatia as she presents lectures at 4 and 7 p.m., Monday, Dec. 4 in room 139 of the Wheeler Science Center on the Bolivar campus.
Bhatia will first present 鈥淢aterial Science and its Applications for the Environment
and Nanomaterials Industry鈥 at 4 p.m. The discussion includes the Nano manufacturing
industry creating new products and solutions for developing sensors, eliminating toxins
and pollutants for better environmental conditions.
The second lecture will be 鈥淐ultural Diversity in India: Through Various Perspectives鈥 at 7 p.m. Bhatia will share glimpses of different attributes of the rich cultural heritage of India.
Bhatia, an associate professor in physics at Acharya Narendra Dev College, University of Delhi, India, is a recipient of the Fulbright 鈥 Nehru Award for Academic and Professional Excellence, 2017. She has 30 years of experience in teaching and administration in colleges of University of Delhi and is currently working on a project that aims at workforce development for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) students in the field of material science industry.
The program, which is free and open to the public, is conducted through the Fulbright Scholar Program鈥檚 Outreach Lecturing Fund (OLF). OLF enables Visiting Scholars to share about their work and their home, and exchange ideas with students, faculty and organizations in the United States.
