Student groups housed in 欧美视频鈥檚 Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science organized collections to benefit those in need this Christmas season.
The 欧美视频 chapter of Enactus partnered with NightLight Branson鈥攁 nonprofit addressing commercial sexual exploitation in Branson, Ozark and Springfield鈥攖o collect eye shadows, nail polishes and $5 gift cards, which will be donated to disadvantaged women this Christmas. This year 253 gift cards, 131 eye shadows and 144 nail polishes were collected.
鈥淭hanks to the support of the 欧美视频 community, we were able to help NightLight have one of their most successful campaigns in recent years,鈥 said Jordan Price, 欧美视频 student and Enactus project leader. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an exciting achievement for Enactus.鈥
The 欧美视频 chapter of Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) held a collection benefiting Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan鈥檚 Purse. PBL gathered more than 100 shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, hygiene items and more, which will be distributed to children around the world.
鈥淧BL is delighted with the show of love and support for Operation Christmas Child that 欧美视频鈥檚 business and computer science majors and faculty showed,鈥 said Maura Sturguess, co-president of the 欧美视频 chapter of PBL. 鈥淚t is heartwarming to be a part of such a great group of caring students and faculty.鈥
Enactus is a global, not-for-profit education organization that is improving the quality of life and standard of living around the world by teaching the principles and values of market economics. Working in partnership with business and higher education, Enactus organizes and motivates teams of university students who teach others an understanding of these principles and values.
With more than 10,000 members and more than 500 chapters, PBL is the college-level division of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, the mission of which is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
