欧美视频 Dutile Honors Program student present capstone projects.BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 Twelve students in 欧美视频鈥檚 Gordon & Judy Dutile Honors Program presented their Senior Honors Capstone Experience projects during an open house May 8.

鈥淚t is the mission of the Dutile Honors Program to serve high-ability students in a manner that promotes healthy development and personal growth,鈥 said Dr. Jodi Meadows, director of the Dutile Honors Program. 鈥淭he capstone experience does just that in providing students an opportunity to be both challenged and supported as autonomous and self-directed learners. The process of the capstone projects is as valuable as the products.鈥

Students are admitted to the Dutile Honors Program before their freshman year through a competitive process. The program includes nine honors-specific courses designed to provide scholastic enrichment and opportunities for practical application and professional development; honors colloquium for sophomores and juniors; and the Senior Honors Capstone Experience that allows students to complete a project or research in the student鈥檚 field of study, including the integration of faith and discipline.

Students who presented projects are:

  • Chase Bussey of Sedalia presented 鈥淒evelopment of a Peer-to-Peer Tutor Matching Application.鈥 He is the son of Melissa and Steven Bussey.
  • Jake Immel of Wooldridge presented 鈥淕reen Chemistry: Synthesis of 4-Bromoacetanilide.鈥 He is the son of Heath and Angelique Immel.
  • Kathryn Jespersen of Broken Arrow, Okla., presented 鈥淭he Incorporation of 3-Dimensional Printing in Anatomy Education.鈥 She is the daughter of Jim and Becky Jespersen.
  • Kara Mullen of Springfield presented 鈥淟ife After Graduation: A Study of Athletic Training Graduates.鈥 She is the daughter of John and Ruby Mullen.
  • Dylan Pich of Union presented 鈥淰illage Suite: A Wind Symphony Composition.鈥 He is the son of Teresa and Billy Pich.
  • Joseph Reyes of West Plains presented 鈥淐ustomized Esports Analytics Using Xpath and Google Spreadsheets.鈥 He is the son of Matt and Priscilla Owsley.
  • Emma Richardson of Grain Valley presented 鈥淓xamining Stigma; Student Views of Mental Illness and Counseling.鈥 She is the daughter of Wade and Joann Richardson.
  • Mackenzie Roth of Bloomsdale presented 鈥淎n Investigation into Cell and Tissue Culture: History, Protocol, and Current Application.鈥 She is the daughter of Darin and Linda Roth.
  • Lexie Stevenson of Springfield, Ill., presented 鈥淩epresentation of Fractional Division in Middle School Curricula.鈥 She is the daughter of J.D. and Karen Stevenson.
  • Cinasee Tapee of Jefferson City presented 鈥淕reat God! This is an Awful Place!: The Place of Amundsen and Scott in the History of South Pole Exploration.鈥 She is the daughter of Steve and Annaliese Tapee.
  • Amy Vitt of Raymore presented 鈥淚nk Root: A Work of Creative Fiction.鈥 She is the daughter of David and Davina Vitt.
  • Seth Walley of Bolivar presented 鈥淢edical Needs of Bolivar鈥檚 Underserved Population.鈥 He is the son of Paul and Jennifer Walley.

The Dutile Honors Program started during the fall 2005 semester and now has 164 graduates.
