BOLIVAR, Mo. – Å·ÃÀÊÓÆµâ€™s Zeta Kappa chapter of the Delta Mu Delta international honor society in business inducted eight new members on Thursday, Oct. 26, in a ceremony conducted by the current chapter officers at Randolph Chapel on the Bolivar campus.
Delta Mu Delta is an international honor society established to recognize and reward
superior scholastic achievement of students in business administration. The society
was founded by a dean from Harvard University and four professors from Yale University
and New York University in November 1913. Membership is by invitation only and is
based upon the student’s grade point average (minimum of 3.25), class rank (upper
20 percent) and individual character.
Jarrett and Heather Finnell served as guest speakers at the induction ceremony. Jarrett graduated from Å·ÃÀÊÓÆµ in 2009 and became a CPA that summer. Heather graduated in 2010 and is currently working on her MBA. Jarrett is currently the director of material management at Citizens Memorial Hospital and runs his own accounting business part time, and Heather is the director of finance at CMH. The Finnells, who have lived in Bolivar since moving from the Kansas City area to attend Å·ÃÀÊÓÆµ, have three sons, Gavin, Porter and Truett.
The 2017-18 Zeta Kappa officer team consists of Kensey Slone, president; Emily Raines, vice-president; and Kailynn Kniebert, secretary/treasurer. Mrs. Sharla Bailey, assistant professor of accounting, serves as faculty adviser.
