Ten 欧美视频 CIS students qualify for PBL nationals

Ten students in 欧美视频鈥檚 Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department prequalified from state-level competitions to compete at the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) National Leadership Conference taking place June 24-27 in Atlanta, Ga. 欧美视频 and University of Missouri had more students qualify for the national competition than any other Missouri universities.

National-qualifying 欧美视频 CIS students include junior Brenna Andersen (Walnut Grove, Mo.); junior Jordan Brown (Urbana, Mo.); junior Chase Bussey (Sedalia, Mo.); junior Judd Horton (Bryan, Texas); junior Regan Katz (Hampton, Iowa); junior Kelli McNabb (Clever, Mo.); sophomore Stephan Munsell (Belton, Mo.); sophomore Joseph Reyes (Dora, Mo.); junior David Thomas (Monett, Mo.); and junior Lajos Zadravecz (Waynesville, Mo). Sophomore Emily Woods (Osceola, Mo.) and freshman Austin Masters (Strafford, Mo.) may qualify for the national competition pending additional judging in April.

She is a tireless worker and a great motivator,鈥 said 欧美视频 CIS department chair Dr. Tim DeClue of Meilani Conley, 欧美视频 CIS instructor and PBL team coach. 鈥淪he and the teams are both great representatives of everything good that 欧美视频 and the CIS Department stand for.鈥

In the last 10 years, 欧美视频 CIS students have claimed five national championships in PBL competitions and had more than 15 students finishing in the top ten nationally.

Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields.

The 欧美视频 CIS Department is home to about 100 students, five full-time faculty members and two faculty associates. 欧美视频 CIS is a nationally recognized leader among evangelical Christian schools in the production of computing and software engineering professionals.
