欧美视频 CIS advisory board, career fair open doors for students

Companies represented on the board employ more than a half-million employees worldwide

BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频鈥檚 2018 Computer and Information Sciences (CIS) Department Advisory Board met on Feb. 16 in the newly renovated Taylor Free Enterprise Center on the Bolivar campus, in conjunction with the Robert W. Plaster College of Business and Computer Science Spring Career Fair.

Members of the 欧美视频 CIS board met on Feb. 16.The complete 2018 Advisory Board consists of:

  • Shirley Cron, American National Insurance. ANPAC employs more than 900 team members at its home office in the American National Corporate Centre in Springfield. Cron is assistant vice president of software development and support, who oversees the software development teams that support the personal lines policy administration systems (both home office and agent facing), as well as the personal lines and commercial lines claims system that supports the Springfield home office.
  • Owen Straub, Cerner Corporation. With more than 26,000 employees, Cerner is the largest medical software company in the United States. Its headquarters are located on multiple campuses in Kansas City and it is one of the top three employers of 欧美视频 CIS graduates. Straub is vice president for millennium software development.
  • Michael Dwyer, Duck Creek/Accenture. A global company of more than 362,000 employees, Duck Creek/Accenture is the largest employer of 欧美视频 CIS graduates. Dwyer is the director of research and development at the company鈥檚 Bolivar site. Dwyer also will advise 欧美视频鈥檚 CIS department in 2018.
  • Doug Roller, eSSETS. Roller is acting CEO of eSSETS, a startup in Springfield, and founder of Duck Creek Technologies.
  • Brian Faros, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. The Kansas City bank is one of only 12 such banks representing the Federal Reserve System for the United States. In the last five years, the FRB-KC has averaged hiring two or more of the 欧美视频 CIS senior class. More than 22,000 are employed by the Federal Reserve, with approximately 1,500 working at the bank in Kansas City. Faros is bank vice president.
  • Charles Campbell, IBM. IBM employs more than 377,000 employees worldwide, including several 欧美视频 CIS graduates. Campbell is Columbia Center Director.
  • Nicholas Jaross, O鈥橰eilly Automotive. O鈥橰eilly is the third-largest auto supply company in the United States, with more than 67,000 employees, and is headquartered in Springfield. Jaross is software development manager.

鈥淔or our career fair, we invite those companies with whom we have great relationships and who have proven to be great places for our graduates to land when they launch their professional career,鈥 said Dr. Tim DeClue, professor and chair of the CIS department.

欧美视频鈥檚 Department of Computer and Information Sciences houses five full-time faculty members and more than 120 students majoring in computer science, information science or web systems and design. The 欧美视频 CIS Department is the second-largest computing program in the Missouri Ozarks, the recipient of multiple national awards each year and one of only six evangelical Christian colleges in the United States with an ABET-accredited computing program.
