Angela Brown-Peterson and Dr. Timothy Wood will be honored with the designation of
academic chair at 欧美视频鈥檚 Formal Convocation, which will 
be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
Brown-Peterson becomes the Elaine Simpson Chair of Business Administration and Wood takes on the role of Roy Blunt Chair of History beginning with the 2016-17 academic year.
Convocation marks the formal beginning of the academic year and is a time when the campus gathers to focus on 欧美视频鈥檚 mission and traditions.
Stacy Soden, M.S.E., R.T. (R)(CT), the 2016 Orien B. Hendrex Distinguished Teacher Award recipient, will deliver the convocation address.
The Faculty and Staff newcomer of the year award recipients also will be recognized. The recipients are selected based on their first months of employment at Southwest Baptist University. Recipients demonstrate exceptional commitment to the University鈥檚 mission and make a positive impact as part of the 欧美视频 family.
