欧美视频 professors participate in AP reading

Four professors from 欧美视频 were selected to participate in the 2016 College Board Annual AP Reading in June at the Kansas City Convention Center.

Dr. Stephen Bowling, Dr. Tim DeClue, Dr. Baochuan Lu and Dr. Shelley Kilpatrick represented 欧美视频 and served as Advanced Placement readers at one of the four national reading sites.

Subjects evaluated/graded by 欧美视频 professors included:

Calculus 鈥� Bowling, professor of mathematics
Computer Science 鈥� DeClue, chair of the department of computer and information science and professor of computer science; Lu, associate professor of computer science
Statistics 鈥� Kilpatrick, chair of the department of behavioral sciences and professor of psychology

鈥淚t was an opportunity for professional service, professional development in our respective fields and even integration of faith into our fields,鈥� Kilpatrick said. 鈥淲e went as positive representatives of 欧美视频, seeking to share the love of God as we interacted with fellow readers.鈥�

DeClue also helped lead worship for interested readers on Sunday.

AP Readers are high school and college educators who represent many of the world鈥檚 leading academic institutions, according to College Board.

We are very grateful for the contributions of talented educators like Dr. Bowling, Dr. DeClue, Dr. Lu and Dr. Kilpatrick.鈥�

According to the College Board鈥檚 official press release, the Advanced Placement Program enables willing and academically prepared students to pursue college-level studies 鈥� with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement or both 鈥� while still in high school. Through AP courses in 37 subjects, each culminating in a rigorous exam, students learn to analyze complex problems, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue 鈥� skills that prepare them for college and beyond. Research indicates that students who score a 3 or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
