The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) recently announced its reaffirmation of its accreditation of 欧美视频鈥檚 Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program for the next 10 years. The reaffirmation took effect October 29, 2024.
CAPTE鈥檚 decision, part of its regular 10-year review process, followed months of work by 欧美视频 faculty and staff to prepare the reports and documentation for the review. It culminated in a site visit to the 欧美视频 campus and DPT facility in the spring.
鈥淎ccreditation reviews require a significant amount of work by a lot of people, and the CAPTE review of our DPT program was no exception,鈥 said Dr. Tracy Manly, provost. 鈥淥ur reaffirmation would not have been possible without the contributions of so many individuals, particularly the DPT faculty, who care deeply about our program and our students.鈥
CAPTE鈥檚 report explains that its 鈥渄ecision to reaffirm accreditation status [for a period of ten years] is based on the program鈥檚 general compliance with the Standards and Required elements,鈥 as well as an expectation that the program will address any specific compliance needs within the next two years.
欧美视频鈥檚 DPT program is a three-year, cohort program that welcomes a new class of students every fall. They study and gain practical training during the first two years under 欧美视频 faculty, and in the third year they rotate to clinical appointments around the country.
