ŷƵ students receive academic honors at “A Premiere of Excellence” ceremony

ŷƵ students graduating in December were recognized for their contributions to their academic areas and divisions during “A Premiere of Excellence” ceremony Tuesday evening, Oct. 11.

This ceremony recognizes three groups of students – honors graduates, Gordon and Judy Dutile Honors program graduates, and division-specific academic awards.

Academic Honors

The honorees include:

  • OutstandingArt Graduate – Allie Loy, Stockton, Mo.
  • Outstanding Psychology Senior — Nicole Easum, Cainsville, Mo.
  • Outstanding Criminal Justice Senior — Elland Morris, Lebanon, Ill.
  • Outstanding Biblical Studies Award — Stephanie Clear, Ozark, Ala.
  • Outstanding Humanities Graduate — Talya Holgate-Allen, Branson, Mo.
  • Outstanding Natural Science Senior — Benjamin Yoder, Lees Summit, Mo.
  • Outstanding Business Division Graduate — Elise Ridenour, Monett, Mo.
  • Outstanding Elementary Education Major — Ally Dilbeck, Clever, Mo.
  • Outstanding Secondary Education Major — Jarvis Funk, Neosho, Mo.
  • Outstanding Kinesiology-Rehabilitative Sciences Award — Madison Froeschle, Bolivar, Mo.
  • Outstanding Kinesiology-Rehabilitative Sciences Award — Troy Froeschle, Bolivar, Mo.
  • Outstanding Computing and Mathematics Senior — Hannah Laws, Hannibal, Mo.
  • Academic Excellence and Servant-Leadership Award — Maximiliano Sanoja, Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela
  • Gordon & Judy Dutile Honors Program Graduates — Hannah Kaufman, Forsyth, Mo.; Hannah Laws, Hannibal, Mo.; Jeremiah Woodward, House Springs, Mo.; Benjamin Yoder, Lees Summit, Mo.

In addition to the individual honors, ŷƵ Interim Provost Dr. Troy Bethards presented cords to 50 seniors graduating with honors — 23 Cum Laude, 4 Magna Cum Laude and 23 Summa Cum Laude.

ŷƵ will host two Winter commencement ceremonies – one ceremony for bachelor and graduate degree recipients at 3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16 and one for associate degree recipients at 6 p.m. The ceremonies also will be available for viewing simultaneously on livestream.
