BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频鈥檚 Center for Global Connections formally commissioned four mission teams during Chapel service on Wednesday, May 11, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.
鈥淭he highlight of the last Chapel of each semester is to commission our CGC mission
teams and recognize those who have committed to serving domestically and abroad over
the summer,鈥 said Diana Gallamore, director of the CGC and travel stewardship. 鈥淭his
service is so impacting, as it affirms our 欧美视频 students are a vital part of what God
is doing in the world and connecting them with His work, as well as recognizing the
support of the student body and campus by allowing a special time of prayer and commissioning
on their behalf.鈥
The 欧美视频 mission teams formally commissioned included (team/leader):
鈥 Baptist Hill 鈥 Dr. Colleen and Henry Shuler
鈥 Kenya 鈥 Jacob and Mollie Banks
鈥 Uganda 鈥 Jared and Amelia Brieg, Taylor McKowen and Sarah Schwemmer
鈥 Pyrenees 鈥 Mason Bollin
鈥淚 feel really blessed to get to serve this summer in Uganda,鈥 said team co-leader Sarah Schwemmer, a biomedical science major. 鈥淭he Lord works in big ways no matter where in the world you are, but it is such a joy to get to serve in another country this summer. I have a heart for the nations, and I am so excited to be the hands and feet of Jesus for them.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited to get to be a co-leader for this team and to pour encouragement into
my teammates. I pray God will help me to help them love and serve well. I have an
amazing team that really loves the Lord and is excited to serve this summer!鈥
Dr. Colleen Shuler, assistant professor of education at 欧美视频, and her husband, Henry, lead housekeeper at 欧美视频, are guiding the Baptist Hill team for the second straight summer.
鈥淲e are blessed to be invited back to Baptist Hill again,鈥 Henry Shuler said. 鈥淚t is truly a place where you can鈥檛 help but feel close to God.鈥
鈥淗aving the privilege to lead a team to Baptist Hill is just one more reason why I love working at 欧美视频,鈥 Colleen Shuler said. 鈥淟ast summer, we fell in love with Baptist Hill 鈥 the people who worked there, the beautiful campgrounds and the testimonies of lives changed. To return was never the question. Rather, how soon can we go back was the question asked by our college students.鈥
欧美视频 alumni Zack Atchley and Nate Jones continued their tradition of closing each semester with musical praise and worship.
