BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥 欧美视频 continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 7 p.m. Friday, March 5, in Pike Auditorium on the 欧美视频 campus.
Eight candidates are nominated by 欧美视频 faculty and staff and voted upon by the student
body to select a pair of standout students to represent the Bearcat family for the
next year. The voting will take place by text message during the pageant, which will
include opportunities to learn more about the candidates through everything from introductory
videos to talent presentations and question-and-answer sessions.
This year鈥檚 candidates are Hannah Gibbs of Harrisonville, Mo.; Ky鈥橪ee Hoyt of Lebanon, Mo.; Corynn Knight of Bolivar, Mo.; Elysia Burgos of Edmond, Okla.; Tyler Burnett of Wildwood, Mo.; Tennessee Ervin of Festus, Mo.; Tyler Eads of Neosho, Mo.; and Nathaniel Dascher of Highlandville, Mo.
The beginnings of the 鈥淢iss Southwest鈥 pageant date back to the 1930s, with 鈥淢r. Southwest鈥 being added in 1963. The pageant is part of Bearcat Days, a two-day visit event in which admitted students considering 欧美视频 attendance are hosted on campus.
Admission to the pageant is free and open to the public with masks and social distancing required under the current recommendations of the local health department.
