Two students to be crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest at annual pageant

BOLIVAR, Mo. 鈥� 欧美视频 continues the tradition of honoring one male and one female student each year at the annual Mr. and Miss Southwest Pageant, which takes place this year at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 6, in Pike Auditorium on the 欧美视频 campus.

Mr. and Miss Southwest candidates Eight candidates are nominated by 欧美视频 faculty and staff and voted upon by the student body to select a pair of standout students to represent the Bearcat family for the next year. The voting will take place by text message during the pageant, which will include opportunities to learn more about the candidates through everything from introductory videos to talent presentations and question-and-answer sessions.

This year鈥檚 candidates are Lindsey Appleby of Springfield, Mo.; Ashton Hensley of Istanbul, Turkey; Paige Phipps of Ozark, Mo.; Sarah Swainston of Warrensburg, Mo.; Jordan Ashford of St. Louis, Mo.; Chance Bedell of Odessa, Mo.; Trevor Bellmyer of Odessa, Mo.; and Brooks Lucas of Divernon, Ill.

The beginnings of the 鈥淢iss Southwest鈥� pageant date back to the 1930s, with 鈥淢r. Southwest鈥� being added in 1963. The pageant is part of Bearcat Days, a two-day visit event in which admitted students considering 欧美视频 attendance are hosted on campus.
